This directive stipulates that 22 types of equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, and loaders, must meet noise emission limits. Those that do not meet the standards will be prohibited from sales or recalled, and even more severe penalties will be imposed for violations. For operators, the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC also requires: if the sound pressure level emitted by the equipment exceeds 70 dB(A), it must be declared in the manual; if it exceeds 80 dB(A), the sound power level must be measured and also declared.
